EnvelopeSealant's™ unique user-friendly application system allows framers and batten, siding or stucco applicators to install it easily. No priming, cutting or lapping is required.

EnvelopeSealant™ is applied over nailing flanges (PVC/metal clad) onto the substrate surface. Designed to combat broken, cracked or damaged flanges, the EnvelopeSealant™ application system ensures the product is injected through nailing holes and around nailing flanges, truly sealing the window to the wall substrate.

Damaged or cracked flanges are repaired as EnvelopeSealant™ bridges most damaged areas and provides the necessary envelope seal, unlike other unproven caulks. The seasonal flexibility of EnvelopeSealant™ exceeds lateral movement between window/wall components, thus maintaining the critical envelope seal needed at the window/wall interface. EnvelopeSealant™ is compatible with the majority of building papers or house wraps and thus can be immediately imbedded into the sealant after application. Once EnvelopeSealant trade; has cured, moisture can no longer penetrate from behind or above the window perimeters. Paper embedded into the sealant provides an extension of the nailing flange, allowing for excessive lapping between the main fields of building envelope and the flange extension.

BEC PAN FLASHING SYSTEM

There are two different notions regarding the details involving post window installations and whether to employ a pan flashing system. In a pan flashing detail or sill flashing can play an important role in managing moisture that may accumulate in the window cavity or rough opening. Follow the window manufacturer's specifications for installing the window shim at the sub-sill.

The shim is placed on top the sill and at the front edge of the sill opening to support the window. The 3/8-inch thickness of the shim also provides the lower 3/8-inch airspace.
